Although made to help bosses, I think it’s very important for employees (actually, everyone!) to know this stuff too. All too often, people suffer from these symptoms and don’t even make the connection between overwork and their emotional turmoil (including headaches, heart disease, musculoskeletal and psychological disorders). Some people just wait too long before seeking help or taking positive steps to rectify the situation. They sometimes let these symptoms drag on for too long thinking it’s “normal” to feel like this at work, not realizing they’re in the middle of a storm… and then unfortunately, end up having to take a sick leave. It’s preventable if you recognize the warning signs and take immediate steps towards wellness.
