Our Team
PsyMontreal psychologists are all members of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ). Our doctoral students and stagiaires in psychotherapy are supervised by a licensed psychologist, member of the OPQ. All of our team members offer psychotherapy and coaching services using the most scientifically validated therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Leanna Zozula, Ph.D., Psychologist
Dr. Leanna Zozula is a clinical psychologist and the Clinical Director at PsyMontreal. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from McGil University in 2001, and has extensive experience working in various hospitals and clinics in the United States and Canada. Dr. Zozula conducts sessions both in English and French, helping adults, adolescents and couples navigate difficult life decisions, improve interpersonal relationships, and achieve greater satisfaction in life. Specializing in evidence-based treatments, Dr. Zozula is dedicated to helping her clients feel better, become more adaptive and self-reliant, and make informed, empowered decisions. Jean-Marc Assaad, Ph.D., Psychologist
Dr. Jean-Marc Assaad is a psychologist and the Director of Prevention & Training Services at PsyMontreal. He regularly provides conferences and trainings in Motivational Interviewing to various governmental agencies and private companies. Dr. Assaad obtained his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from McGill University, where he also taught.
Samantha Dimitriadis, M.A., c.o., Psychotherapist
Samantha is a registered guidance counsellor and psychotherapist who earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University. Her commitment lies in assisting clients as they navigate their challenges, offering a nurturing environment free from judgment. By embracing a collaborative approach, Samantha strives to empower clients with practical strategies and insights tailored to fostering positive transformation in their lives. Her goal is to ensure that individuals not only overcome their immediate concerns but also cultivate long-term resilience and well-being.
Alexandra Brunet, B., Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology Candidate
Alexandra offers cognitive behavioral therapy and a client-centered approach. She is passionate about helping others find wellness in their lives. She works with clients looking to overcome anxiety, conquer depression, and work through relationship issues as well as many other obstacles. Alex offers English services, under the supervision of Jessica Martinez Perez, MSW, and Jean-Marc Assaad, psychologist.
Nora Kelner, Ph.D., Neuropsychologist
Dr. Kelner has extensive experience working with young and older adults (18 years and older) who experience cognitive and functional complaints. Dr. Kelner has practiced professionally as a neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist for over 27 years. She completed her Ph. D. studies at McGill University and has worked in Montreal as a neuropsychologist as part of a medical team of specialists offering diagnostic and clinical services, supervising students, and collaborating with ongoing clinical trials for neurodegenerative diseases. She is a clinical and research consultant for clinical centers designing specific assessment batteries to evaluate a variety of cognitive complaints (ADHD, Dementia, traumatic brain injury). In her private practice, she has worked with physicians and other professionals in the community contributing to improve the understanding of their clients.
Dr. Kelner is a registered psychologist and certified neuropsychologist with l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). Languages. English – French – Spanish.
Ken Bruce, Ph.D., Psychologist
Dr. Ken Bruce is a psychologist member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. With over 15 years of experience, he has worked in hospital settings, academia and in private practice. He uses cognitive behavioral therapy and has a wide range of specialties such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression and mood disorders. Dr. Bruce received his Ph. D in clinical psychology from McGill University where he also taught for 12 years.
Alexandra Maduro, M.A., c.o., Psychotherapist
Alexandra is a licensed guidance counsellor and psychotherapist in Quebec. She completed her M.A. in Counselling Psychology and M.Sc. in Psychiatry at McGill University. Alexandra has experience working with youth and young adults undergoing difficulties related to life transitions, academic and work-related stress, interpersonal relationships, grief, anxiety, and depression. Alexandra recognizes the courage it takes to seek counselling and commends those beginning this journey. She strives to provide her clients with a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts and feelings and works collaboratively with them to facilitate personal development and achievement of their goals.
Tianshu Li, M.Ed., c.o., Psychotherapist
Tianshu is a licensed guidance counsellor and psychotherapist. She earned her master’s degree in counselling psychology at the University of Ottawa. With a strong background in working with adults from diverse ethnic backgrounds and the LGBTQ+ community, Tianshu offers counselling and psychotherapy services in both English and Mandarin. She is experienced in addressing various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, identity exploration, interpersonal relationships, trauma, addiction, academic difficulties and work-related issues. Tianshu integrates multiple therapeutic approaches into her practice, including cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as systemic and somatic approaches. She draws on these methods to meet clients where they are and collaboratively support them in navigating life’s challenges.
Sean Scanlan, M.A., Psychologist
Sean Scanlan is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of professional experience and completed his training at McGill University. He has worked in a variety of settings with individuals and groups including private and public health settings, as well as in community crisis intervention. Sean uses a primarily cognitive-behavioral approach, an integration of CBT and ACT, and specializes in working with people who struggle with emotional or interpersonal problems, as well as issues such as chronic pain and fibromyalgia and other chronic illness and health issues. His objective is to provide a warm, accepting, and safe atmosphere in which difficulties can be explored in order to collaborate to find workable solutions and help individuals get back to living a meaningful life. Sean also provides individual and group supervision to graduate level interns and equivalency candidates for the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ).
Jennifer Acheson, Ph.D., Psychologist
Jennifer is a Registered Psychologist who is licensed in both Quebec and British Columbia. She obtained her doctorate degree from McGill University and has worked in many settings, including hospitals, community agencies, and universities. For the past 10 years she has been helping young adults and adults expand their coping skills, build resilience, and achieve their goals. She has experience helping people to navigate life transitions, address their depression and anxiety, cope with relationship problems and better manage stress / burnout, as well as face grief and loss. Jennifer’ s approach reflects cognitive-behavioural therapy, but also integrates solution focused interventions and mindfulness.
Rossana Bisceglia, Ph.D., Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology Candidate
Rossana is a lifelong learner. In addition to her PhD in Developmental Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto, she is currently completing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. With over 10 years of clinical experience, Rossana has supported families and individuals dealing with dual diagnosis, developmental disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has also assisted youth and adults experiencing depression and anxiety. Rossana is comfortable with various therapeutic approaches, tailored to client needs and preferences. She aims to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, identify strengths and challenges, and make plans to achieve their goals. Rossana believes in a client-centered approach, viewing clients as experts in their own lives, with the therapist providing guidance and support. Rossana provides psychotherapy under the supervision of Deane Thomas Taylor, Registered Psychotherapist.
Mariana Neibert, M.A., c.o.
Mariana is a licensed counsellor currently working towards obtaining her psychotherapy permit under the supervision of Dr. Annett Körner and Dr. Marilyn Fitzpatrick after completing her bachelor's degree in psychology at Concordia University and her master's degree in counselling psychology at McGill University. Mariana works towards helping clients live their best life by building a trusting therapeutic relationship and fostering a safe environment in which clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful improvements in their lives. She works primarily with young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem problems, academic difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, and problems related to attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms. Marc Bétournay, Kinesiologist
Marc has a degree in Kinanthropology from the University of Ottawa. He is an accredited member of the Fédération des Kinésologues du Québec. Over the Years he has worked in the corporate sector, in wellness programs and health and safety. He also has 15 years of experience in the field of physical rehabilitation, both in the private sector and in the public health care system. While he has worked with people suffering from many different types of physical deficiencies, his main interest is the field of chronic pain and disability. The issues related to chronic pain can be complex, but gradual movement and education are the two main components that kinesiology can contribute when helping a person suffering from chronic pain. Pain affects everything and everything affects pain. Because of this, Marc works very hard to build a good working relationship with his client, a relationship base on empathy, trust, honesty and communication.
Shane Grant, B.A., Master of Social Work Candidate
Shane is committed to creating an environment of growth and transformation for each client, using therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. He offers services in English, under the supervision of Jessica Martinez Perez, MSW and Jean-Marc Assaad, psychologist.
Shiya Mangat, B.A., Master of Social Work Candidate
Shiya has over five years of experience in social work. Her practice lens is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy primarily. She is always open to grow in new directions to meet client needs therapeutically. Shiya works to create a therapeutic experience for individuals to thrive. She is currently working under the supervision of Jessica Martinez Perez, MSW and Jean-Marc Assaad, psychologist and offers her services in English.
Sierra Richards, B.Sc., Master of Psychology Candidate
Sierra holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) degree in human behaviour from McMaster University and is currently completing her Master of Clinical Psychology at the Adler Graduate Professional School. Sierra is focused on helping clients with stress, relationships, anxiety, depression, gender identity and sexuality, family systems, ADHD, work-life balance and sport-related stressors. She aims to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a trauma-focused approach. She’s committed to providing empathetic, culturally responsive support to all clients, focusing on historically marginalized populations. She has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and the BIPOC population and is passionate about creating a safe, affirming space for healing and growth. She believes that clients are the true experts of their own lives, and her role is to walk alongside them, offering tools and insights to help them tap into their resilience and strengths. Sierra empowers clients, working collaboratively to lift them up and help them confidently navigate life’s difficulties. Her overall goal is to honour each client’s lived experience and provide the kind of personalized care that fosters lasting change. Sierra is under the supervision of Dr. Lori Walls and provides services in English.
Alveena Mathew, B.Sc., Master of Clinical Psychology Candidate
Alveena provides services to individuals facing challenges related to relationships, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. Passionate about offering support to those in need, she draws on her experience of helping clients with a wide range of mental health issues. Alveena is working under the supervision of Dr. Lori Walls, Ph.D., Psychologist.
Brant Moscovitch, B.A., Master of Counselling Psychology Candidate
Brant is completing his practicum under the supervision of Sean Scanlan, as part of his Masters in Counselling Psychology that he is pursuing at Yorkville University. He is committed to bringing empathy and curiosity to each session, and to helping clients empower themselves to pursue their goals and lead lives aligned to their values and purpose. He welcomes adult clients from all backgrounds
Emery Wehrli, M.Ed., c.o., Psychotherapist
With her B.A. in psychology from McGill and her M.Ed. in counseling psychology from the University of Ottawa, Emery is an OCCOQ-certified guidance counselor and holds her psychotherapy license with the OPQ. Emery is bilingual, affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community, experienced in working with people of diverse ages, and committed to creating a safe, supportive and accepting space. She offers a wide range of counseling services and is passionate about providing compassionate care and working with clients to help them achieve their goals. She has worked with adolescents and adults in both clinical and educational settings
Ross LeBlanc, B.A., Master of Counselling Psychology Candidate
Ross is a dedicated and compassionate therapist, excited to join the team at PsyMontreal. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Concordia University and is in his final stage of earning his master’s at Yorkville University in Counselling Psychology. Ross has traveled to many places in the world as a hockey player, taught English overseas, and continues to work with community-led initiatives within the world of skateboarding that prioritize breaking down accessibility barriers. His approach is person-centered and CBT-focused, as he believes that by working together, new perspectives can be uncovered, empowering clients to take control of their emotions in this complex world. Ross is passionate about helping clients feel respected, understood, and supported on their ever-growing journey toward mental wellness. Outside the clinic, he can be found spending time in the great outdoors and engaging in various hobbies that keep him grounded and energized. He speaks French as well, but his first language is English. Ross genuinely excited to start this journey with clients and looks forward to supporting their growth and well-being.
Vanessa Laham, B.Sc., Master of Psychology Candidate
Vanessa is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) in the final semester of her master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University. She has been working as a psychotherapist at a clinic in downtown Toronto since May, using an integrative approach to help clients primarily with anxiety, depression, suicidality, stress, work-related challenges, and relationship issues. She draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy and mindfulness, to tailor clients’ sessions based on their goals, preferences, and needs. Vanessa also has two years of experience working as a crisis responder for the National Suicide Helpline and Kids Help Phone. From these experiences, she learned that behind every struggle lies a story of vulnerability, fears, worries, aspirations, and resilience. As such, she aims to create a safe and nurturing space for clients to share their story, explore their emotions, overcome challenges, and create positive change in their life.
