Matt completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Windsor and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of Ottawa. He is completing his internship under the supervision of Dr. Sean Scanlan and is interested in helping clients through a wide variety of life's challenges. Matt is committed to developing effective therapeutic relationships that empower clients to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences. With a warm and empathetic approach, Matt strives to create a safe and welcoming environment where client’s feel respected, heard, and understood.

Josee Claude, B.Ed., Master of Counselling Psychology Candidate


Josee is a bilingual Psychotherapist intern currently completing her master's in counseling psychology from Yorkville University. Her focus is to help improve the well-being and balance in her client's life by setting up goals that are realistic and attainable. Josee uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Emotional and Solution-Based Therapy to help those struggling with anxiety, stress, and depression. Additional areas for consultation include strengthening relationships, career transition, adaptation, and self-esteem. Josee is currently under the supervision of psychologist Sean Scanlan.

Myriam Pierre-Louis, B.Sc., Master of Clinical Mental Health Counselling Candidate


Myriam is pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Concordia Irvine University and interning under the supervision of Psychologist Sean Scanlan. As a registered nurse clinician, she has learned the importance of providing empathy, compassion, honesty, and positive regard to foster a safe environment for healing and change. The theoretical framework guiding her practice is cognitive-behavioral therapy, and she is interested in accompanying individuals in their healing journey, especially in managing interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.

Emily Light, B.A., Master of Counselling Psychology Candidate


Emily has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McGill University and is currently enrolled in her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She views the therapeutic process according to the client-centered framework, which places empathy and unconditional positive regard at the forefront and can be combined with the approaches offered at PsyMontreal, such as CBT and ACT. Emily seeks to reinforce clients’ sense of autonomy and resilience, by creating a supportive environment that encourages self-actualization.She is an intern being supervised by psychologist Sean Scanlan.

Leily Rojas-Ferreira, B.A., Master of Counselling Psychology Candidate


Leily is pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is completing a practicum under the supervision of psychologist Sean Scanlan. With experience working in social services, Leily’s therapeutic approach is centered around respect, empathy, and working collaboratively with clients to guide and help them attain desired goals. Leily is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, and hopes to support a variety of clients through the toughest of circumstances and instill hope for a brighter future.
