A motivational interview reduces mortality and improves mood after stroke

A study found that only four sessions of Motivational Interviewing administered to patients recovering from a stroke not only improved their mood, but was associated with reduced mortality. Specifically, they were over 2 times more likely to be alive 12 months later, compared to patients receiving usual care.
