Offer for Psychotherapists

Are you a doctoral-level student in psychology looking for an internship placement? Build the practice you want—without having to manage everything yourself. PsyMontreal combines clinical autonomy with referrals, administrative support and the opportunity to work alongside an established clinical team. We welcome applicants based in Montreal, as well as students located in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.

Our office is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, right in the McGill REM and metro station building. For students located outside Montreal, supervision and caseload are delivered virtually.

What We Offer

  • A structured internship placement supporting the training hours required by your program, with adult and adolescent clients so you can build your caseload according to your preferences.
  • Support with case conceptualization, treatment planning, and documentation standards.
  • Regular, individualized clinical supervision provided by licensed psychologists registered with the OPQ for applicants based in Montreal, or with the relevant regulatory college for applicants based in Alberta, British Columbia, or Ontario, including free group and individual supervision.
  • Cases and Coffee: a monthly in-person gathering with other psychotherapists and psychologists to talk about cases and get to know one another (available to applicants based in Montreal).
  • Hands-on experience delivering cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and related evidence-based approaches.

Who We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a doctoral program in psychology.
  • Based in Montreal, Alberta, British Columbia, or Ontario.
  • Strong clinical foundations, particularly in CBT or related therapeutic approaches.
  • Comfort working in English; French is required for applicants based in Montreal.
  • Access to a private, confidential space for virtual sessions if completing the internship remotely.
  • A genuine interest in long-term collaboration with PsyMontréal - PsyVitalitï.

Once accepted, you'll be paired with a designated supervisor who will meet with you regularly (virtually) to review your cases, support your clinical development, and help you fulfill the internship requirements set out by your program.
